A Pap smear test, also termed as a Pap test, is a screening method that includes collecting cells from the cervix, which lies in the lower part of the uterus that further opens into the vagina. This examination aims in detecting precancerous or cancerous cells in the cervix. The study has two segments, liquid-based cytology test and conventional Pap smear test.
